Can you all believe that it is almost March! The season is warming up a bit here in the Northern Hemisphere, but the snow will continue to fly… it always does. This week is exciting as we will be bringing you more coverage of the NET slopestyle event in Maine. Expect to see that in the middle of the week.

The Freeheel Open will be taking place this coming weekend in Tahoe, California, so be sure to check out the info about that and get you’re a** out there! We love you all out there that share our passion for Freeheel skiing and we wish you the best in your ski adventures this week.

    Telluride, CO (Feb. 20, 2006) - Mountain Sports International (MSI) is proud to announce the inaugural Subaru Telluride Freeskiing Open, March 2-5, 2006, at the Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado. For the first time ever, over 100 of the world’s top athletes will face Telluride’s challenging terrain to compete for a $7,500 prize purse and their shot at the overall Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series Title.

    The Telluride Freeskiing Open is the second stop of the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series, the premier Big Mountain competition series in North America with a $45,000 overall prize purse. The series opener at Snowbird, UT, exceeded all expectations, with huge crowds, record-breaking cliff drops, and an incredible level of competition. FREEHEELERS WELCOME!!!

  • Three Magazine & BANG! Entertainment are bringing to you the 3 Ring Circus Slopestyle event @ Brighton Ski Resort, Utah. It will take place Saturday March 25th, 2006. Freeheel Skiers WELCOME!

  • European News did you know that this year at the Free Heel Fest you'll have an opportunity to make your own skis? And not just an ordinary pair of skis but the ones you've always dreamed of having. It will take a couple of hours a day for three or four days and your custom self made skis will be ready to use. We will give you the necessary material: soles, edges, cores and fibreglass finish, tools of the trade, monkey suits and gloves.

    Our aim is to enhance the recreational/hobby side of this sport by working with wood in the lab and later playing around on the snow with a finished home made product. Making your own skis is easier than you think and a lot of fun to try. Take a look at www.skibuilders.com to get a general idea of what we’ll be doing.
