G3 Interview with Sally Carmichael

G3 is “focused on Backcountry” according to Sally Carmichael, along with design, function, and durability. From the get go it was obvious that G3 does not shy away from their backcountry roots and where they are going in the future. They run an R & D program that is mainly focused around guides, guiding in the BC and an ambassador program that “shares the commitment of the outdoors.”

This year G3 is introducing products like the Ascent binding, which just won the coveted outdoor award at the ISPO trade show in Europe in the innovation category. The Ascent is identical to the popular T-9 binding, however they have created a pivoted body with a stainless steal free pivot for touring. It is pole activated, quiet while touring, & the lightest of all touring mode bindings on the market. In addition to the array of bindings, both men and women’s, G3 will have a line of 7 unique skis this upcoming year. (See photos for all of the new products)

This is a company that has produced so many innovative products to move Freeheel skiing into a new age. Their commitment to the sport is something that will continue to change things in the future as well. In closing we asked Sally if there were any exciting things on the horizon for G3? “We want to be the #1 Backcountry brand!” It doesn’t sound like these guys are backing down from anyone in the near future.
